The Three Gorges Hydropower Plant (hereinafter referred to as "Three Gorges Power Plant") is the operation and management unit of the Three Gorges Hydropower Project. Since February 2000, it has been organized by China Three Gorges Corporation. Party and state leaders Li Peng and Wu Bangguo have unveiled the Three Gorges Power Plant in the Three Gorges Dam Area. The operation and management of the Three Gorges Power Plant includes two power stations on the left and right banks. The powerhouse of the hydropower station is located on the left and right sides of the spillway dam section. There are 26 units installed with a capacity of 700,000 kilowatts per unit, of which 14 are on the left bank and 12 are on the right bank, with an average annual power generation of 84.7 billion degrees. On July 10 and 16, 2003, the first two generating units of Three Gorges Left Bank Power Station, Unit 2 and Unit 5, were officially transferred to the operation and management of the Three Gorges Power Station. In 2003, six units were taken over, creating a world record of the largest number of connected units and total capacity of the power plant in half a year, generating 8.62 billion degrees of electricity in that year. On September 16, 2005, Unit 9 of the Three Gorges Power Station was put into operation formally, and the Three Gorges Power Station was put into operation ahead of schedule. Take over all 14 units on the left bank in one year.
In accordance with the requirements of "High Starting and High Standard" of China Three Gorges General Corporation, the Three Gorges Power Plant aims to build an "international first-class hydropower plant". Its per capita management installed capacity is about 50,000 kilowatts, which is in the leading international level. The Three Gorges Power Plant adheres to the road of innovation, breaks through the traditional concept, puts forward and successfully implements the management mode of "Combination of Construction and Management, Seamless Handover", and builds a production management system based on highly integrated information system. In December 2003, it passed the certification of ISO 9001 International Quality Management System, and in December 2004, it passed the certification of OHSASI 9001 Occupational Health Safety and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Problem: The pressure of GIS decreases during operation, and SF6 gas needs to be filled once a year. The leakage fault point can not be detected by SF6 imager and common leak detector. The leak can not be solved by replacing the whole GIS chamber in the early stage.

The detected fault points: 6 of 30-60PPM leakage fault points were detected on the flange surface of the switching chamber, and the root cause of the problem was found for on-site fault maintenance.
